About

Turn SRT or VTT subtitles into clean, readable text: strip timestamps, numbers and tags, remove duplicate auto-caption lines and form paragraphs.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste subtitles or open a .srt / .vtt file.
  2. 2Choose clean-up options (tags, repeats, sound cues, speakers).
  3. 3The clean text updates instantly.
  4. 4Copy it or download a .txt file.
You give
SRT or WebVTT subtitles (including YouTube auto-captions)
You get
Plain text, as paragraphs or one line per caption
Good to know
Speaker-label removal uses patterns like “JOHN:” and “>>”, so unusual formats may need manual edits. ASS/SSA files aren't supported — export them as SRT first.

FAQ

Why does my YouTube transcript repeat every line?

Auto-captions roll, so each cue repeats the previous line. “Remove repeated lines” detects that pattern and keeps each sentence once.

How are paragraphs created?

Lines are joined into paragraphs, and a new paragraph starts whenever there's a pause longer than the gap you set (2 seconds by default).

Does it keep italics?

Formatting tags are removed by default for clean text; untick “Strip formatting tags” to keep them.
