What it does

When invoked with a description of a story scene, lore area or narrative level, this skill tells the agent to run a structured, multi-step process in which it plays or spawns specialist roles such as narrative director, writer, world-builder, level designer and localization lead. It reads any existing story bible or character and faction notes first, then works through phases, asking the user to pick between proposals at decision points. Depending on the team size setting, most runs use only the writer role, with the others consulted through it.

Great for

  • Game developers or narrative designers planning dialogue, lore or story-driven levels in a structured way
  • Small teams who want an AI assistant to check new story content against existing canon

Skip it if

  • Quick one-off dialogue lines, since the multi-phase pipeline and config resolution add overhead for simple requests
  • Projects with no written story canon, because the skill tells agents not to invent canon and the output will be only as good as the inputs provided

Try asking

  • “/team-narrative boss encounter cutscene”
  • “/team-narrative faction intro dialogue --review lean”
  • “/team-narrative tutorial narrative --review solo”
  • “/team-narrative old mine level backstory and environmental storytelling”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    team-narrative.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip team-narrative.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip team-narrative.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give a specific scene or area in the argument, such as the boss, faction or level name, so the writer has a clear target.
  • Keep narrative bible, character and faction files under design/narrative/ before running so agents read canon instead of inventing it.
  • Use --review lean or solo for quicker runs; the default team size keeps token use low.
