What it does
When installed in the Claude Code Game Studios template, this skill makes the agent act as a guide for someone new to the project. It reads the project files, asks where the user is starting from (no idea, vague idea, clear concept, or existing work), states its assumptions, and names one next step such as /brainstorm or /setup-engine without running that step itself. It can save a few project settings (stage, rigor, automation mode) only after the user explicitly agrees.
Great for
- Someone who just cloned or installed the studio template and does not know where to start
- A beginner game maker who has an idea but no engine or design documents yet
- A developer bringing an existing game project into the studio workflow
Skip it if
- Experienced studio users who already know their stage and workflow, since the skill mainly adds an onboarding conversation (it stops early for returning users)
- Projects that are not game development, because it assumes the studio's game-design files and commands
Try asking
- “I just cloned this repo and have no idea where to start, can you guide me?”
- “I have a vague idea for a cozy farming game, what should I do first?”
- “I already have some code and design docs in this project, where do I begin?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Answer the first question honestly; if the skill's reading of your project does not match your answer, it will ask again rather than guess.
- Check the settings card before confirming, since saved values such as rigor change how much documentation later steps produce.
- If your clone still points at the template repository on GitHub, do not push or open pull requests there unless you intend to; the skill will flag this.
