What it does
When you want to change a small thing in a game, such as a balance number, a minor behaviour, or a small added mechanic, this skill makes the agent classify the change and write a short, structured spec file under design/quick-specs/. The agent first checks the existing game design documents and prior specs so the new spec does not contradict them. If the change is too large, it redirects you to the heavier full design document process instead.
Great for
- Game developers making quick balance or tuning changes who want a written rationale
- Small game teams that keep design docs in a design/ folder and want consistent spec records
- Designers who want a fast, programmer-ready spec for a minor mechanic
Skip it if
- Large new systems or work over about one week, since the skill itself redirects these to /design-system
- Projects with no existing design docs or structure, because the skill expects a design/ folder layout and will have little to read
- Non-game software, because the spec format and categories are built around game design
Try asking
- “/quick-design increase jump height from 5 to 6 units”
- “/quick-design make dash invincible on frame 1”
- “/quick-design add a parry window to the block mechanic”
- “/quick-design reduce enemy patrol speed by 10%”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give a specific, one-sentence description of the change so the classification is accurate.
- Keep the design/gdd and design/quick-specs folders up to date so the agent can check prior specs for conflicts.
- Review the classification prompt carefully and choose the correct category before the spec is written.
