What it does

When installed, the agent can produce a structured milestone review for a software project: it reads hand-written milestone definitions and sprint reports, scans for unfinished-work markers and bug counts, and summarises feature completeness, blocked work, risk and a go/no-go recommendation. It is designed to refuse to fabricate results: if required inputs are missing, it reports 'NOT ASSESSED - NO DATA' rather than a clean pass. It also writes its output to a review file in the project.

Great for

  • Studio or indie game leads preparing a checkpoint or deadline review in a project that uses the Claude Code Game Studios structure
  • Producers who keep sprint reports and bug files in the expected folders and want a consistent milestone summary
  • Developers who want a quick overview of blocked stories and open bugs before a release decision

Skip it if

  • Projects without the expected production folders (production/milestones, production/sprints, production/qa/bugs): most sections will be NOT ASSESSED, so the output will be thin
  • Teams wanting an automated decision without human judgement: the skill's recommendation is advisory and depends on the quality of the input files
  • Non-game or non-studio projects, since the file layout and templates are specific to this framework

Try asking

  • “Run a milestone review of the current milestone before Friday's checkpoint”
  • “Do a lean go/no-go review for the 'Alpha' milestone”
  • “Review milestone Beta in solo mode and tell me which features we can cut”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Milestone Progress ReviewInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    milestone-review.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip milestone-review.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip milestone-review.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Keep milestone definitions in production/milestones/ and sprint reports in production/sprints/ so the review has real data to aggregate.
  • Check the Blocked section and the NOT ASSESSED markers first; they show where the review lacks evidence.
  • Treat the go/no-go recommendation as a starting point for a human decision, not a final verdict.
