What it does
Once installed, when you ask the agent to plan your game's work, it reads your existing game design documents and architecture notes and turns them into epics, one per architectural module, grouped by layer (Foundation, Core, Feature, Presentation). For each epic it shows you a draft and asks for your approval before writing an EPIC.md file and an index row, so nothing is saved without your yes. It also checks which design requirements are backed by accepted architecture decisions and flags any that are not.
Great for
- Solo or small indie game developers who already have design docs and an architecture document and want a structured work plan
- Teams using the Claude Code Game Studios workflow who are moving from design into production
- Producers who want requirement-to-decision traceability before writing stories
Skip it if
- Projects with no game design or architecture documents: the skill stops and tells you to create them first, so it will not help at the start
- Breaking an existing epic into stories: the skill explicitly does not do this; use the story-creation skill instead
- Non-game software projects, since its inputs and terminology are built around game design documents
Try asking
- “Create epics for all systems in layer order”
- “Make epics for the Foundation layer only”
- “Plan epics for the combat system, lean review mode”
- “Break the game into epics before we write any stories”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run /start or /brainstorm first, and /create-architecture before this skill, so the required inputs exist.
- Check the proposed epics and requirement coverage carefully; untraced requirements mean /create-stories will block until ADRs are accepted.
- Answer each 'Shall I create Epic' question deliberately, since nothing is written without your confirmation.
