What it does
Lets the agent look up what was on your screen or said in audio during a time window, using a Screenpipe app that already records your computer locally. The agent can answer questions like what was discussed in a meeting or where you saw a document, citing timestamps and source IDs. If you ask, it can also save a concise note of the findings into claude-mem's local memory. It only retrieves on demand and does not start recording.
Great for
- Developers who already run Screenpipe and want the agent to recall recent desktop context
- People who need to find a detail from a meeting or an app they used earlier today
- Users who want selected findings saved to claude-mem rather than whole desktop histories
Skip it if
- Users who do not run Screenpipe or do not want screen and audio recording on their machine, since the skill depends on that recording history
- Sensitive settings such as confidential or regulated work, because retrieved screen text is sent to the agent's AI provider and may be stored if you save it
- Anyone expecting an exhaustive or authoritative record, because results can be truncated and empty results do not prove nothing happened
Try asking
- “What did the release plan look like on my screen between 9 and 10 this morning?”
- “Find the audio from my client call yesterday afternoon about pricing.”
- “Search Screenpipe for the error message I saw in the terminal last hour and save a summary to claude-mem for project alpha.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give a specific time window and topic so the search returns focused results rather than a large page of text.
- Ask for a save only when you want a note kept; otherwise the agent shows the answer without storing anything.
- Review the note before saving, since it becomes part of your claude-mem memory and may be synced to the cloud if that is enabled.
