What it does
Once installed, the agent can read text aloud using ElevenLabs AI voices by running the sag command-line tool. It can play audio locally, list available voices, and tune delivery with pronunciation fixes, number normalization, and expressive tags such as [whispers] or [short pause]. It can also generate an MP3 file and attach it to a chat reply as a 'voice' message.
Great for
- Creators who want narration or voiceover drafts from an AI assistant
- Developers building voice features who want a quick ElevenLabs test from the terminal
- Anyone who wants the assistant to answer in a spoken voice in chat
Skip it if
- Offline or privacy-sensitive text, because the text is sent to ElevenLabs servers to generate audio (usage incurs API costs on your account)
- Cloning or imitating a real person's voice without consent, since the skill only selects voices and does not address rights or consent
- Situations where no ElevenLabs account or API key is available, since the skill cannot work without one
Try asking
- “Read this paragraph aloud in a calm voice and play it on my laptop”
- “Generate an MP3 of my product announcement using the Rachel voice”
- “List the ElevenLabs voices available to my account”
- “Explain this recipe in a dramatic 'crazy scientist' voice and send it as audio”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Confirm the voice and speaker with the agent before generating long audio, since each generation uses your ElevenLabs quota.
- Respell hard-to-pronounce words (for example 'key-note') and use --normalize auto for numbers, units, and URLs.
- Use the default eleven_v3 model for expressive audio tags; v2 models support SSML break tags instead.
