What it does

Once installed, the agent can work with your Apple Notes app on a Mac by running the memo command-line tool in the terminal. It can list notes, search them, add new notes, edit or delete existing ones, move notes between folders, and export notes to HTML or Markdown. Many actions open interactive prompts so you pick the note or folder yourself.

Get better results

  • Use the quick-add form (memo notes -a "Title") when you want to skip the interactive editor.
  • Grant Automation access to Notes.app when macOS prompts, otherwise commands will fail.
  • Review the note selected in interactive prompts before confirming edits or deletions, since the agent may not be able to undo them.
