What it does

This skill teaches an agent to bundle several separate conversations that serve the same overall goal into one tracked request, then review each request using the agent's stored memory of past work. It then writes a short build story, a progress summary, and notes on how released work landed, which feed a My Work dashboard with progress meters, shipping velocity and learned working preferences. It is part of the claude-mem memory plugin and depends on that tool's local database and worker.

Great for

  • Developers who work on one goal across many Claude or Codex sessions and want a progress view
  • Users of the claude-mem plugin who want a My Work dashboard that tracks requests rather than single chats
  • Teams wanting a written build story of recent agent-assisted work

Skip it if

  • People without claude-mem installed, since the scripts read its local database and need its worker, so the skill has no value on its own
  • Anyone expecting automatic, perfectly accurate grouping: the skill tells the agent to keep conversations separate when unsure, but mistakes are possible and the owner must check cards
  • Users who do not want conversation content read or summarised, because it reads recent prompts and stored memory from the local database

Try asking

  • “Group recent conversations by overall request for the last 14 days”
  • “Review request progress and refresh progress for my open goals”
  • “Write the build story for my recent work”
  • “How do I like to work with agents?”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Request ProgressInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    request-progress.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip request-progress.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip request-progress.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review the grouped cards in My Work and accept or decline suggested links, since wrong merges hide work
  • Use a shorter window such as a few days if you want a narrower review than the default 14
  • Expect the agent to read recent conversation prompts and memory; check before sharing the output
