What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent a step-by-step recipe for reading rows from a Google Sheet, creating a new Google Doc, writing a summary and list of top deals into it, and sharing it with a named email address. It relies on the gws command-line tool to talk to Google Workspace. Once installed, the agent can build a basic report from spreadsheet data without you handling each Google step yourself.
Great for
- Office staff who regularly turn spreadsheet figures into a written summary for managers
- Analysts who want a repeatable workflow for sending monthly sales or results reports
- Developers prototyping automation that connects Google Sheets and Google Docs
Skip it if
- Sensitive financial or personal data shared with the wrong email address, because the skill grants read access to whoever you name without any confirmation step described in the file
- Complex or highly designed reports, since the example only writes plain headings, lines and a numbered list and does not show real formatting or charts
- Users without the gws tool and Google Workspace access, because the recipe cannot run without them
Try asking
- “Read the Sales!A1:D range from my sheet and make a Google Doc report with totals and top deals”
- “Create a January sales report doc from this spreadsheet and share it as a reader with my manager”
- “Summarise the data in this Google Sheet into a Docs report”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Check the spreadsheet ID, range and recipient email before letting the agent run the sharing step, since it gives reader access to the address you specify.
- Replace the example figures and text in the write step with your real data, because the sample values are hard-coded in the recipe.
- Install and sign in to gws and the three companion skills first, otherwise the steps will fail.
