What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to operate Google Classroom through the gws command-line tool. Once installed, the agent can look up, create, update and delete classes, send and accept teacher or student invitations, manage grading period settings, and read user profiles. Before calling any method, it checks the available commands and parameters, so it can build correct requests instead of guessing.
Great for
- Teachers or school administrators who want an agent to automate class setup and roster changes
- Developers building Classroom integrations who want an agent to explore the API with the gws CLI
- Google Workspace admins managing courses owned by users in their domain
Skip it if
- Anyone without Google Classroom access or the gws tool installed, since the skill only wraps that CLI and cannot work on its own
- Bulk changes to live classes without review, because deletes and updates take effect immediately on real student records and an agent can make mistakes
Try asking
- “List all the Classroom courses I teach and show their creation dates”
- “Create a new course called Biology 101 owned by me and add the invitation for ms.lee@school.edu as a teacher”
- “Update the title of course 12345 and show me the result before saving”
- “Show the grading period settings for my Algebra II course”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the gws classroom --help command first so the agent sees the real resource list for your installed version
- Ask the agent to show the gws schema for a method before running create, update or delete, and check the parameters
- Start with read-only requests such as list and get to confirm the right account is connected before making changes
