What it does
This skill gives an AI agent a short recipe for setting up a Google Classroom course from the command line. Once installed, the agent can create a course with a name, section and room, send an invitation to a student's email address, and list the students already enrolled. It does this by running the gws command-line tool with the right arguments, relying on another skill (gws-classroom) for the underlying Classroom commands.
Great for
- Teachers or school staff who want to set up classes quickly through an AI agent
- Administrators scripting repeated course setup for many classes
- Developers building Classroom automation who want a working example of the gws CLI
Skip it if
- Anyone without a Google account authorized for Classroom, since the commands will fail without credentials (the file does not describe setup)
- Bulk or unsupervised invitations, since the agent would send real invitations to real email addresses and the recipe does not include confirmation steps
Try asking
- “Create a Google Classroom course called Introduction to CS in section Period 1 in Room 101”
- “Invite student@school.edu to my course as a student”
- “List all students enrolled in my Classroom course”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Replace the placeholder COURSE_ID with the actual course ID returned when the course is created before inviting or listing students.
- Review the email address and course details before the agent runs the invitation command, since it creates real records in your Google Classroom.
- Make sure the gws-classroom skill is installed alongside this recipe, otherwise the steps will not have the commands they depend on.
