What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to connect messaging apps (such as Slack, Discord or WhatsApp) to the agent groups that answer messages in the NanoClaw system. It explains how to inspect the current database setup, decide how isolated each conversation should be, choose threading and mention behaviour, and create the wiring with the ncl command-line tool. It is mainly a guide for reconfiguring an existing NanoClaw installation.
Great for
- Developers running a self-hosted NanoClaw instance who want to add or reconfigure messaging channels
- Operators deciding whether a Slack or Discord conversation should share an agent with other chats or get its own isolated agent
- Anyone troubleshooting why a wired channel does not respond to mentions or threads
Skip it if
- People who do not already run NanoClaw; the skill assumes its database, host service and ncl tool exist and is not useful as a general chat-app integration guide
- Users who want to change access rights casually: it changes which users are owner or admin, and wrong isolation choices can expose one person's conversation history to another
Try asking
- “Connect my new Slack channel to a separate agent group for the marketing team”
- “Show me which channels are wired, configured but unwired, or not configured”
- “Change this Discord wiring so replies stay in one flat session instead of threads”
- “Why is my WhatsApp group agent never responding to mentions?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Let the agent run the read-only SELECT queries first so it sees the current state before changing anything
- Pick the isolation level deliberately: use a separate agent group whenever different people are involved, because shared sessions share history
- Remember that editing channel defaults only affects wirings created afterward, and renaming an agent group does not update stored group patterns
