What it does
Once installed, the agent can give you a 10-question multiple-choice quiz on one lesson of the claude-howto Claude Code tutorial (lessons 01 to 10). It asks you whether you are taking it before, during, or after the lesson, presents questions in rounds of two, gives feedback after each round, then scores you and lists the topics you should review. The questions come from a pre-written question bank rather than being made up on the fly.
Great for
- Learners working through the claude-howto Claude Code tutorial who want to check their understanding
- Instructors or study groups who want a quick self-test on a single lesson
- Readers who want a before-and-after check of what they actually retained
Skip it if
- Anyone wanting a quiz on a topic outside this tutorial, since it only covers the bundled lessons and question bank
- Whole-tutorial assessment, which the skill explicitly does not do
- Learning a new topic from scratch, because it tests rather than teaches; the explanations are brief
Try asking
- “Quiz me on the Hooks lesson before I start reading it”
- “Give me a mastery check on lesson 03 Skills”
- “I'm halfway through the MCP lesson, test my progress”
- “Explain the question I missed on the Memory quiz”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Say the lesson name or number up front (for example 'hooks' or '06') to skip the selection menu
- Answer honestly on the pre-test; the results are framed around whether you have read the lesson yet
- Use the 'Explain a topic I missed' option after results to get a fuller explanation of weak areas
