What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to use the gws command-line tool to upload local files (.gs, .js, .html and appsscript.json) from a folder into a Google Apps Script project, identified by its Script Project ID. Once installed, when asked to push code to Apps Script, the agent knows the correct command and flags. Importantly, the upload replaces all files in the target project, so it is a destructive write operation.
Great for
- Developers who keep Google Apps Script code in a local repository and deploy it from the terminal
- Teams automating Apps Script updates as part of a build or release workflow
- Users already set up with the gws CLI and Google authentication
Skip it if
- Anyone who has not set up gws and Google authentication, since the skill cannot work without them
- Projects where the online editor holds code not saved locally, because the push would overwrite it and lose those changes
- Users who only want to read or edit a single file, since this command replaces the whole project
Try asking
- “Push my local ./src folder to my Apps Script project with ID abc123”
- “Upload the scripts in this directory to Apps Script, confirming first”
- “Sync my appsscript.json and .gs files to the script project”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Always confirm the Script Project ID and local directory before running, because the push overwrites every file in the remote project.
- Back up or version-control the existing Apps Script project first if it may contain changes not stored locally.
- Use --dir to point at a specific folder such as ./src rather than relying on the current directory.
