What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to use Google's Model Armor service through the gws command-line tool. Model Armor screens text for unsafe content, so the agent can check a user's prompt before it is processed or check a model's reply before it is shown. The skill lists three helpers for sanitizing prompts, sanitizing responses, and creating a filtering template, and tells the agent to look up the exact parameters with gws schema before calling anything.
Great for
- Developers building chat or AI features who want a content-safety check on prompts and replies
- Teams already using Google Cloud and the gws CLI who need to set up Model Armor templates
Skip it if
- People who need a finished safety product without coding or cloud setup, since it requires the gws CLI and a Google Cloud configuration
- Situations needing guaranteed safety: the filter is one layer and the skill itself does not state its detection accuracy
Try asking
- “Sanitize this user prompt through my Model Armor template before sending it to the model”
- “Check the model's response for unsafe content using the Model Armor template”
- “Create a new Model Armor template for filtering user-generated content”
- “Show me the parameters needed to call the modelarmor sanitize method”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run gws generate-skills first if the shared skill file is missing, and check authentication before use.
- Use gws schema modelarmor.<resource>.<method> to confirm parameters instead of guessing flags.
- Test your Model Armor template on sample inputs before relying on it in production.
