What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to use the gws command-line tool to work with Google Workspace Events, which are notifications about activity in Google Workspace apps. Once installed, the agent can list, create, inspect, update, reactivate and delete event subscriptions, and can stream incoming events. It relies on the separate gws tool and its authentication rather than doing anything on its own.
Great for
- Developers building automations that react to Google Workspace activity
- Admins or engineers who manage Workspace event subscriptions from the command line
- Teams already using the gws CLI who want an agent to run its events commands
Skip it if
- Users who do not have the gws CLI installed and authenticated, since the skill cannot work without it
- Anyone wanting to change subscriptions in a live Workspace without review, because create, patch and delete calls modify real account settings
Try asking
- “List all my Google Workspace event subscriptions and tell me which are suspended”
- “Create a subscription that notifies me about changes in a specific Drive folder”
- “Reactivate the suspended subscription with ID abc123 after I fix the error”
- “Stream incoming Workspace events as NDJSON so I can watch them live”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask the agent to run the schema command for a method first so it builds correct parameters before creating or deleting subscriptions
- Start with read-only requests such as list or get before asking for changes
- Install the gws-shared skill and run gws generate-skills if the prerequisite file is missing
