What it does
This skill lets the agent check whether your claude-mem memory database is connected to the paid cmem.ai cloud sync service, report its status (pending items, last upload, errors), and walk you through connecting it. The agent does not handle your secret token: it asks you to run the official installer in your own terminal, which signs you in through the browser and saves the connection settings locally. Your memories are then uploaded to your cmem.ai account, so this is mainly useful if you already use claude-mem and have a cmem.ai Pro account.
Great for
- Claude Code users who already run claude-mem and want their memories backed up to cmem.ai Pro
- People troubleshooting why cloud sync shows errors or pending items
- Users setting up sync on a headless server who need guidance without pasting secrets into chat
Skip it if
- People who do not want their memory content uploaded to a third-party service, since observation narratives and full prompt text are sent to cmem.ai
- Users without a cmem.ai Pro account, because the setup flow depends on it
- Anyone expecting the agent to configure sync entirely by itself, since the connection requires the user to run the installer and approve sign-in in their browser
Try asking
- “Set up cloud sync for my memories”
- “Check my cmem sync status”
- “Why is my cloud backup showing an error?”
- “Walk me through connecting claude-mem to cmem Pro on this headless server”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the status check first; if configured is already true and the Hub is reachable, no setup is needed
- Run npx claude-mem install yourself in a terminal rather than asking the agent to do it, so your token never enters the chat
- Expect a short wait after restarting the worker before status responds; the skill retries for about 30 seconds
