What it does

This skill tells an AI agent to take a coding task you describe and handle it end to end. It chains three other skills in order: make-plan (write a plan), do (carry it out), and babysit (monitor and keep the work moving). The goal is for the agent to work through the session on its own, as if it were typing the code itself, rather than stopping for step-by-step guidance.

Great for

  • Developers who have a well-defined coding task and want it completed with little back-and-forth
  • Users of claude-mem who want a single entry point to its planning, execution, and monitoring skills

Skip it if

  • Ambiguous or high-stakes changes, because the agent proceeds without checking in and may make decisions you would have wanted to review
  • Non-developers or anyone who cannot review the resulting code diffs before merging

Try asking

  • “/build Add pagination to the users API endpoint and update its tests”
  • “/build Refactor the logging module to use structured JSON output”
  • “/build Fix the failing login test and explain the root cause”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Build (Automated Coding Pipeline)Install, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    build.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip build.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip build.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give a specific task with clear success criteria so the plan has a concrete target
  • Review the diff and test results at the end, since the run is largely unattended
  • Check the claude-mem plugin files for what make-plan, do, and babysit actually execute, because this skill only references them
