What it does
This skill tells an AI coding agent to handle a whole development task end to end, as if a subagent were typing it for you. It asks the agent to run a 'build' step, merge the ready pull request and continue from updated main, then run a 'release' step. The SKILL.md itself contains only these instructions; the actual build, merge and release behaviour depends on other claude-mem skills it refers to, which are not included in the files reviewed.
Great for
- Maintainers of the claude-mem project who already use its build and release skills
- Developers who want an agent to take a coding task through to a shipped release with minimal intervention
Skip it if
- Anyone who wants to review each step before code is merged or published, because the workflow is designed to run through merge and release automatically
- Repositories without a tested build and release process, since an agent could publish broken work
Try asking
- “Build and release the caching fix I described in this task: [task description]”
- “Finish this feature, merge it when the PR is ready, and cut a release”
- “Run the full build-and-release pipeline for the change we just made”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip build-and-release.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip build-and-release.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Read the 'build' and 'release' skills before using this one, since this file only orchestrates them and they carry the real actions.
- Give a specific, scoped task in $ARGUMENTS so the agent does not make broad changes before merging and releasing.
- Use it on a branch or test repository first to confirm the merge and release steps behave as you expect.
