What it does

This is a setup recipe for NanoClaw, an open-source personal AI agent framework. Once applied, it copies a Webex messaging adapter into the project, registers it, installs its package, and runs a test. You then create a Webex bot, paste its token and a webhook secret when prompted, and the agent can chat with you and your team in Webex spaces (group rooms or direct messages).

Great for

  • Developers running NanoClaw who want their agent reachable from Cisco Webex
  • Teams that already use Webex and want an agent in a shared space with clear isolation per team

Skip it if

  • People who do not run NanoClaw: the skill edits its source tree and depends on its channel barrel and CLI commands
  • Setups where a public webhook endpoint is not acceptable, since Webex can only deliver messages to a publicly reachable URL, which exposes port 3000 to the internet

Try asking

  • “Add Webex as a channel to my NanoClaw install”
  • “Connect my NanoClaw agent to a Webex bot and test the integration”
  • “Set up the Webex webhook and store the bot token in .env”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Add Webex ChannelInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    add-webex.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip add-webex.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip add-webex.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Use a dedicated Webex bot and a strong, unique webhook secret, and keep the secret and bot token out of version control
  • Start with a single test space, confirm messages flow end to end, then wire other spaces to separate agent groups for teams with sensitive information
  • If sends fail with 401, check you copied the bot's Bot Access Token rather than a short-lived personal token from the API docs
