What it does
Once installed, the agent answers questions about cybersecurity companies, funding rounds, acquisitions, investors and market maps by querying Return on Security's Signal database through a live, authenticated connection, instead of relying on memory or web scraping. It keeps observed records clearly separated from forecasts and scores, and reports the data's freshness and usage quota as the provider returns them. It does not cover vulnerabilities, security news or investment advice.
Great for
- Analysts or investors researching cybersecurity funding trends and M&A activity
- Market researchers building maps of security vendors by category, investors or acquirers
- Users who already hold a Return on Security Signal account or API key
Skip it if
- Vulnerability research or threat intelligence, which the skill explicitly excludes
- Investment decisions: the skill does not give investment advice, and its forecasts and scores are analytical outputs, not facts
- Anyone without a Signal subscription, since the data is paywalled and tool access depends on the plan tier
Try asking
- “Show quarterly funding trends for cloud security and distinguish observed rounds from forecasts.”
- “Enrich this security company and report its category, funding, investors, lifecycle and data freshness.”
- “Map identity-security M&A activity and acquirers for the last three years.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask the agent to separate observed rounds from forecasts or scores, since the skill is built to keep them distinct.
- Check your tier limits first: Free access allows 180 calls per day and 12 tools, and OAuth tokens expire after 24 hours.
- Run the setup check before relying on answers, and review Setup.md for the MCP connection steps.
