What it does
When installed, the agent follows a multi-phase process for a research question: it searches your existing knowledge base first, fetches and archives primary sources, writes a one-to-one summary for each source, and then writes a single self-contained guide on the topic. Depth is adjustable, so you can start with a basic synthesis and later ask it to go deeper without redoing finished work. It also checks the retention preference before storing verbatim copies of sensitive material and treats fetched web text as data rather than instructions.
Great for
- Researchers or students building a lasting reference on a subject from many public sources
- Teams maintaining a shared knowledge base who want sources archived with citations and backlinks
- Users who want a definitive guide and an audit trail of where each claim came from
Skip it if
- Simple one-off questions, since the multi-phase archiving process is heavy and slow (the file notes cost tens of dollars and up to an hour for the base level)
- Structured data extraction into tables or trackers, which the file says belongs to a different skill (data-research)
- Collecting private correspondence, medical or financial records, or other sensitive material, because archiving those verbatim can conflict with privacy and retention expectations
Try asking
- “Research everything about solid-state batteries, read them all and summarize, then write a definitive guide”
- “Deepen the compendium on spaced repetition and take it to the next depth level”
- “Archive the sources then summarize them into a comprehensive guide to container security”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- State your privacy or retention preference up front so the agent skips verbatim archiving for sensitive sources.
- Start with the base level for a new topic and only bump depth when you need more primary-source detail.
- Review the index page and flagged untrusted content notes after a run, since archived web pages can contain prompt-style text.
