What it does
This skill makes an agent run a checklist before adding new notes or pages to a personal knowledge base called a brain (the gbrain project). The agent first looks up whether a named project, person, or company already has a page, expanding searches through known aliases, and then checks whether the same insight is already recorded before writing. If it is already there, the agent is told to link to the existing page rather than copy it.
Great for
- Developers who maintain a gbrain repository and bulk-import or migrate files into it
- Teams running background agents that write notes into a shared brain and want to avoid duplicate pages
- Anyone who has seen search return duplicate stub pages for things that already have a named page
Skip it if
- Users who just want to chat with an agent and have no gbrain repository, since the commands it relies on will not exist (the skill's value depends entirely on that setup)
- Situations needing a hard technical block on writes: the file itself says it is a routing convention that a well-behaved agent follows, and nothing in the runtime enforces it if the skill is not loaded
- Writing into a brain where you need guaranteed duplicate detection; the skill relies on the agent reading search results and judging them, which can miss things
Try asking
- “Move these project notes into my brain without creating duplicates”
- “Is this already in the brain? Check before I save this article”
- “Before writing a new page about this company, check whether one already exists under another name”
- “Migrate this folder into the brain, but test the first few files and show me the decisions first”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Use it as a gate before bulk imports: ask the agent to test a small batch of 3 to 5 items and review its decisions before running the rest.
- Give named pages an aliases list in their frontmatter so the lookup can find them under different phrasings.
- Remember the gate only runs if the agent loads it; for guaranteed behaviour, pair it with your own review of the agent's write actions.
