What it does

When you ask for an interactive playground, explorer, or visual tool on a topic, the agent writes a self-contained HTML file with controls on one side, a live preview on the other, and a prompt box that rewrites itself as you adjust things. You tweak settings visually, then copy the generated instruction back into Claude to act on. Without this skill, the agent would just write plain code or text; with it, it follows a fixed layout and a set of templates for design, data queries, learning maps, document review, code review and codebase architecture.

Great for

  • Designers who want to explore layout, spacing, colour or typography choices before asking for code
  • Developers who want a visual tool for building a regex, SQL query or API call
  • Students or teams mapping out a topic, concept or codebase structure

Skip it if

  • Simple one-off questions that a plain text answer handles better, since building a full HTML tool is slower
  • Sensitive or confidential data, because the generated HTML is opened locally in a browser and any data placed in it is visible to anyone with the file
  • Production web apps, since the output is a prototype-style single file with no external dependencies or testing

Try asking

  • “Make an interactive playground for tuning card border radius, shadows and padding”
  • “Build a data explorer that helps me construct a SQL query by clicking options”
  • “Create a code map of this repository's architecture I can explore visually”
  • “Make an interactive concept map for learning how TCP handshakes work”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 7 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    playground.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip playground.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip playground.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Be specific about the topic and what you want to adjust, so the agent picks the right template and controls
  • Review the generated HTML before sharing it, especially if it includes any real data or code
  • Copy the prompt output back into Claude in the same session so it has context for the change you want
