What it does

This skill lets Claude manage who is allowed to talk to an iMessage channel connected to your Claude setup. It reads and edits a local JSON settings file to approve pairing codes, add or remove allowed senders, set whether direct messages are open to pairing or limited to an allowlist, and configure group chats and reply splitting. It is built to act only on commands you type in your own terminal, and it refuses such changes if they arrive through an incoming message.

Great for

  • Owners who run a Claude iMessage channel and want to control which contacts can reach it
  • Developers setting up pairing or group-chat rules for a personal iMessage bot
  • Users who want a status view of allowed senders and pending pairing requests

Skip it if

  • Anyone wanting to send or read iMessages directly, since the skill only edits a config file and never talks to iMessage itself
  • Shared or unattended setups where pairing decisions should be made by someone else, because the skill deliberately requires the owner to act in their own terminal

Try asking

  • “/imessage:access”
  • “/imessage:access pair 482913”
  • “/imessage:access allow friend@example.com”
  • “/imessage:access group add iMessage;-;chat123 --no-mention”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    access.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip access.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip access.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Use pairing codes shown in pending status and approve only people you recognise, typing the code yourself
  • Keep dmPolicy on allowlist rather than pairing unless you want autoreplies sent to every contact who texts you
  • Run status regularly to review allowFrom and remove senders you no longer trust
