What it does
This skill lets an AI coding agent report on its own memory files for a project. When you ask for the memory status, the agent counts lines in its memory and rules files, checks how close they are to size limits, looks for references to files that no longer exist, and suggests cleanup steps. It is a read-only health check that helps you keep the agent's notes from becoming bloated or outdated.
Great for
- Developers who use an AI coding agent with persistent project memory and want to see if it is getting too full
- Teams maintaining CLAUDE.md and rules files who want quick size and staleness checks
Skip it if
- People who do not use persistent agent memory, since there is nothing for it to report on
- Situations needing changes to memory: the skill only reports and recommends, and the cleanup itself is done with a separate command (/si:memory-review)
Try asking
- “/si:memory-status”
- “/si:memory-status --brief”
- “How full is my agent memory for this project?”
- “Check whether my memory files have stale references to deleted files”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Use --brief for a quick one-line check before starting a large task
- When the status is yellow or red, run /si:memory-review to find entries to promote or delete
- Review the recommendations before deleting anything, since the skill itself only suggests changes
