What it does
Once installed, when you ask the agent to solve or check an IMO, Putnam, USAMO or AIME-style problem, it follows a structured workflow: it checks how the problem could be read, generates several candidate solutions in parallel, then strips out the reasoning and has a separate verifier attack the cleaned proof using known failure patterns. If no solution survives, it says so instead of guessing, and if LaTeX is installed it can compile the finished proof into a PDF.
Great for
- Students or coaches who want rigorously checked solutions to olympiad-style proofs
- Anyone who wants a second opinion on whether a competition proof is correct
- People building multi-agent pipelines that solve whole problem sets and collect results
Skip it if
- Routine homework or calculation where a plain answer is enough; the multi-agent workflow is slow and token-heavy
- Situations where a confident wrong answer would cause harm, since the skill can still be wrong even after verification
- Use with the expectation that it runs scripts or fetches data; the skill itself is designed to avoid computation, so it is not a numerical tool
Try asking
- “Solve this IMO problem: prove that for all positive reals a, b, c the inequality holds”
- “Is this proof correct? Here is my Putnam solution attempt.”
- “Find a counterexample to this claim from a USAMO problem”
- “Solve all six problems from this competition and compile the solutions into a single PDF”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip math-olympiad.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip math-olympiad.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the full problem statement verbatim so the interpretation check can work properly
- Ask for a verification pass on your own proof if you already have one; this skill is strongest there
- Expect an honest 'no confident solution' on hard problems rather than a forced answer
