What it does

Once installed, the agent takes one or more company names or tickers and works through a six-stage value-investing checklist modelled on Warren Buffett's approach: whether the business is understandable, whether it is a good business (returns, margins, cash flow), how wide its moat is, whether management is trustworthy, whether the price leaves a safety margin, and whether your emotions are under control. It gathers data from the web in parallel, scores each stage from one to five stars, runs some valuation maths through a bundled Python script, and saves a report file to your home folder. It is a research aid for filtering out weak candidates, not a source of buy or sell advice.

Great for

  • Individual investors who want a structured, disciplined first-pass screen before reading primary filings
  • Students learning how value-investing criteria are applied to real companies
  • Users comparing several listed companies side by side in one summary table

Skip it if

  • Anyone expecting reliable real-time prices or verified financials: the files only instruct data gathering and do not say which sources are used, so figures can be stale or wrong and must be cross-checked
  • Trading decisions made without independent research, since the checklist is a judgement framework and its scores are subjective
  • Unlisted companies or private investments, which the skill itself marks as not analysable in full

Try asking

  • “Run the investment checklist on NVDA, AAPL and MSFT and give me a comparison table”
  • “Apply the Buffett pre-buy checklist to Kweichow Moutai and tell me if it passes”
  • “Analyse 腾讯 and 茅台 using the six-step value investing checklist and save the report”

Get better results

  • Give tickers with exchange suffixes where possible (for example 0700.HK or 600519.SS) to avoid confusion between companies with similar names
  • Check every figure the report cites against the original filings, since the skill itself warns that AI research can confuse scarce data with uncertainty
  • Read the generated report as a starting point for your own research rather than a final verdict
