What it does

This skill acts as a memory layer for a set of business-advisor skills. At the start of a session it reads a company profile file stored on your computer (~/.claude/company-context.md), checks whether it is more than 90 days old and offers a refresh if so, and keeps key facts such as stage, team size and top challenge in mind. It also notes new facts learned during a conversation and asks before saving them, and it strips sensitive figures and names before any external service or web search is used.

Great for

  • Founders or executives who use several C-suite advisor skills and want advice tailored to their company
  • Teams that want a shared, reviewed company profile instead of re-explaining their situation each session
  • Users who want a built-in reminder not to send revenue, customer or investor details to outside services

Skip it if

  • Anyone expecting automatic privacy guarantees: the anonymization rules are instructions the agent follows, not enforced technical controls, so review what is sent externally
  • Users who do not want a persistent file of sensitive business data kept on their machine
  • Situations needing verified financial analysis: the skill relies on whatever the founder wrote into the profile file

Try asking

  • “Start a C-suite advisor session and check whether my company context is stale”
  • “Update my company profile after we closed a new funding round and hired three people”
  • “Before I ask a web search about our competitors, remove any sensitive numbers from my question”
  • “Show me which company fields are missing from my context file”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Company Context EngineInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

    context-engine.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip context-engine.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip context-engine.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Keep the context file updated; refresh it at least every 90 days so the advisors do not rely on outdated facts
  • Review any context update the agent proposes before confirming, since it will only write changes you approve
  • Check the anonymization protocol reference before sending anything to an external tool, and do not rely on it as a guarantee
