What it does

This skill is the standard way to stop or finish a running oh-my-claudecode (OMC) mode, such as autopilot, ralph, swarm, or team. When a mode is done or stuck, the agent uses it to find the active mode, shut it down, and clear its saved state, with flags like --force or --all controlling how urgent and how wide the cancellation is. It also includes a fallback that deletes state files directly if the normal state tools fail and a stop-hook loop blocks progress.

Great for

  • Developers already using the oh-my-claudecode plugin who need to exit a stuck or finished autopilot, ralph, or team run
  • Users who run several OMC sessions and want to cancel one session or all of them safely

Skip it if

  • People who have never installed oh-my-claudecode: the skill only works inside that plugin's mode system, so it does nothing useful on its own.
  • Situations where you want to keep work in progress: the emergency fallback and --force can discard state, and --all reaches across sessions, so use the default command first.

Try asking

  • “/oh-my-claudecode:cancel”
  • “/oh-my-claudecode:cancel --force”
  • “/oh-my-claudecode:cancel --all”
  • “cancelomc”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Cancel Active OMC ModesInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    cancel.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip cancel.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip cancel.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run the plain command first; use --force or --all only when the default cancellation cannot finish.
  • Check which session id the agent resolved before confirming a cancellation, since the skill fails closed when identity is ambiguous.
  • Expect durable plan and ledger files (for example .omc/ultragoal/) to be preserved, but review what gets cleared if you use the bash fallback.
