What it does

When you have a business question such as a pricing change or market entry, this skill makes the agent frame it as a one-page strategy brief. The brief locks in the exact question, at least two options (including doing nothing), explicit assumptions and constraints, the advisor roles that should weigh in, and measurable success and kill criteria set before any decision. It saves the result as a Markdown file so later steps in the same pipeline can use it.

Great for

  • Founders or executives who want to frame a strategic decision before debating it
  • Teams already using the c-level-agents plugin pipeline (office-hours, boardroom, decide)
  • People who want a structured written decision record with explicit assumptions

Skip it if

  • Quick yes/no questions or simple tasks, since the workflow is designed for heavier strategic decisions
  • Users without company context, because the skill relies on a ~/.claude/company-context.md file and may produce generic output without it
  • Final decisions on their own: the brief frames the question but does not provide the answer, and its quality depends on the inputs the user supplies

Try asking

  • “/c-level-agents:brief Should we raise our SaaS prices by 15% next quarter?”
  • “/c-level-agents:brief Market entry into the German mid-market logistics segment”
  • “/c-level-agents:brief <paste office-hours output here>”

  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip brief.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip brief.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run /c-level-agents:office-hours first and pass its output in, since the skill says that input gives more rigorous briefs
  • Keep company-context.md up to date so the Context section reflects current facts
  • Review the generated assumptions and kill criteria yourself before passing the brief to the boardroom step
