What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent how to work with AQuA (Ambient Quality Agent), a separate service that watches a deployed AI agent, reviews its production conversations, and records recurring defects as insights. Once installed, the agent can deploy or attach AQuA to an agents-cli project, run the agents-cli aqua commands to list insights and root-cause diagnoses, and help the developer fix the defects found in the agent's code. It is aimed at people already building agents with the agents-cli tool, not at general users.

Great for

  • Developers who have an agent built with agents-cli and deployed to Google Cloud and want production quality monitoring
  • Teams running several agents who want one AQuA instance watching them across projects
  • Developers who want an AI assistant to triage AQuA insights and propose code fixes

Skip it if

  • Offline evaluation of a local agent; the skill says to use google-agents-cli-eval instead
  • Plain deployments without AQuA; the skill says to use google-agents-cli-deploy instead
  • Anyone without a Google Cloud project, since attaching and deploying AQuA change cloud resources and IAM permissions

Try asking

  • “Attach AQuA to my deployed agent in project my-project and show me the dry-run plan first”
  • “List the current AQuA insights for my agent and summarize the root causes”
  • “Propose code fixes for the NEW insights AQuA found in production conversations”
  • “Check whether AQuA is deployed and show me the dashboard URL”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    agents-cli-aqua.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agents-cli-aqua.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agents-cli-aqua.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Always run the --dry-run attach command first and review the IAM grants and log sink it would create before approving with --yes
  • Use agents-cli aqua -- --help (with the double dash) to discover the current commands and flags, since the skill relies on live help output
  • Run the agent from its project root so the .aqua/attached_aqua.json settings are picked up automatically
