About

Validate JSON against a JSON Schema (Draft-07 or 2020-12) with a plain-English error list pointing to each path — or generate a schema from sample JSON.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste your JSON data and your JSON Schema (or drop files).
  2. 2The draft is read from $schema, or pick Draft-07 / 2020-12 yourself.
  3. 3Read the list of problems — each shows the exact path like $.billing.vat_id.
  4. 4No schema yet? Paste data and click “Generate schema from data” to get a starting point.
You give
JSON data and a JSON Schema
You get
Valid/invalid result with friendly, path-based errors; or a generated schema
Good to know
Uses Ajv. Remote $ref URLs are not fetched (schemas must be self-contained). Format checks cover common formats (email, uri, date, date-time, uuid, ipv4, hostname) with simplified rules. Draft-04/06 schemas are validated with Draft-07 rules.

FAQ

What does a generated schema include?

Types for every field, nested objects and array items, formats it can recognise (email, date, uri, uuid) and a required list of keys present in every sample object. Tighten it with enums, ranges and patterns before using it in production.

Why don’t I see a “format” error?

Make sure “Check formats” is ticked. Unknown custom formats are ignored rather than failing the schema.
