About

Pretty-print JSON with 2, 4 or tab indents, sort keys, explore a collapsible tree, and see errors pinpointed by line and column.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste JSON, open a .json file or click Sample.
  2. 2Choose the indent and whether to sort keys alphabetically.
  3. 3Switch to Tree view to collapse and expand nested data; hover a node to see its path.
  4. 4Copy or download the formatted JSON.
You give
JSON text or a .json file
You get
Indented JSON, a collapsible tree, and error locations for invalid input
Good to know
Numbers larger than 2^53 (e.g. 64-bit IDs) lose precision because the browser parses them as doubles. Files of tens of MB work but the tree view only renders the first 1,000 children per node.

FAQ

Is my JSON uploaded?

No. Parsing and formatting happen in your browser, so API responses with tokens or customer data never leave your device.

What does “Sort keys” do?

It reorders object properties alphabetically at every level, which makes two JSON documents much easier to compare in a diff.

It says my JSON is invalid — can it fix it?

For common problems such as trailing commas, single quotes, comments or unquoted keys, a “Repair automatically” button appears under the error.
