  4. 4Download the ZIP and paste the HTML snippet into your <head>.
You give
A logo/image (PNG, SVG, JPG, WebP) or 1–3 characters / an emoji
You get
ZIP with favicon.ico (16/32/48), 16/32/48/180/192/512 PNGs, site.webmanifest and an HTML snippet
Good to know
Emoji appearance depends on your operating system's emoji font. The .ico contains PNG images (supported by all modern browsers and Windows Vista+), not legacy BMP icons.

FAQ

Which favicon files do I actually need?

favicon.ico for legacy and default requests, a 32px PNG for tabs, the 180px apple-touch-icon for iOS home screens, and 192/512px icons referenced by site.webmanifest for Android and PWAs. The ZIP includes all of them.

Where do I put the files?

Upload them to your site's root folder (next to index.html) and paste the HTML snippet inside <head>. Adjust paths if you put them elsewhere.

Is the .ico a real multi-size icon?

Yes — it contains 16, 32 and 48 px images in one file, assembled in your browser.
