How to use it

  1. 1Pick a harmony mode.
  2. 2Press Space (or Generate) for a new palette; lock the colours you want to keep.
  3. 3Or switch to Extract from image and drop a photo.
  4. 4Export as CSS variables, a Tailwind config or JSON.
You give
Nothing (random), a locked base colour, or an image
You get
A 5-colour palette (3–10 when extracting) with CSS, Tailwind and JSON exports
Good to know
Image extraction samples a 200px copy of the picture using k-means clustering, so tiny details may not appear. Harmony rules are a starting point, not a guarantee of accessible contrast — check text pairs with the contrast checker.

FAQ

How does locking work?

Locked colours stay put when you regenerate. The first locked colour also becomes the base for the harmony, so the rest of the palette is built around it.

What's the difference between the harmony modes?

Complementary uses opposite hues; analogous uses neighbours; triadic and tetradic space three or four hues evenly; monochrome varies only lightness of a single hue.

How are colours extracted from a photo?

Pixels are grouped by similarity with k-means clustering and the groups are sorted by how much of the image they cover.
