What it does

When you give the agent a GitHub issue number or URL, it fetches the issue with the GitHub CLI, reads the claim, and searches the hive codebase to check whether the reported bug or request is actually valid. It sorts the issue into a category such as valid bug, misunderstanding, duplicate, or incomplete, and drafts a technical reply. It only posts the comment and closes the issue if you approve the draft.

Great for

  • Maintainers of the aden-hive/hive repository who handle a steady flow of incoming issues
  • Contributors who want a first-pass analysis of an issue before deciding how to respond

Skip it if

  • Projects other than adenhq/hive, since the commands hardcode that repository and would need editing
  • Anyone wanting automatic closing without review, because the skill is written to ask for approval, and closing reporters' valid issues damages trust and contributor goodwill

Try asking

  • “/triage-issue 1970”
  • “/triage-issue https://github.com/adenhq/hive/issues/1970”
  • “Triage issue 1985 and tell me whether the reported behaviour is a real bug”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Triage IssueInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    triage-issue.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip triage-issue.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip triage-issue.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review the drafted response carefully before choosing Post and close, since the comment is published under your GitHub account.
  • Ask the agent to check the related tests and docs as well as the code, so the rebuttal is well grounded.
  • Use Edit response when the draft is correct in substance but too blunt for the reporter.
