What it does

This skill guides an AI agent through copying a skill that works well in your private setup (for example a personal OpenClaw fork) into the public gbrain project, so other gbrain users can reuse it. The agent walks through a checklist to replace real names, people, companies and internal channels with generic placeholders, runs a dry-run preview, then runs a privacy linter on the real copy. The user reviews the diff and approves the commit before anything is considered landed.

Great for

  • Maintainers of gbrain or forks who want to share a battle-tested skill upstream
  • Developers who keep a private agent fork and want to contribute generalized skills back

Skip it if

  • Sharing a one-off draft: the skill itself says a gist is better, since harvesting needs a stable, generalizable skill and a gbrain checkout
  • Skills containing private content that cannot be genericized, because the editorial pass will not make them safe to publish

Try asking

  • “Harvest this skill from my OpenClaw fork into gbrain”
  • “Promote my skill called invoice-triage to the gbrain bundle”
  • “Scrub my skill of real names and prepare it for the gbrain core”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Skillpack HarvestInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    skillpack-harvest.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip skillpack-harvest.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip skillpack-harvest.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Always run the dry-run first and spot-check the files for names the linter may miss, since the regex linter is not complete.
  • Keep the host copy intact; harvest copies files rather than moving them, so do not delete the source afterward.
  • Harvest one skill at a time, and wait until the skill has stabilised to avoid repeated churn in the bundle.
