What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to build and maintain other skills. It walks the agent through a 15-item checklist covering a skill's instruction file, scripts, tests, evaluations, and directory registration, then improves existing skills on re-runs instead of rewriting them. It also defines a no-regression rule so later edits to a skill must score at least as well as the previous version on the same evaluation.
Great for
- Developers maintaining a library of agent skills who want consistent structure and tests
- Teams converting ad-hoc features or scripts into reusable, documented agent capabilities
- Operators who run scheduled agent jobs and need edits checked before they ship
Skip it if
- One-off tasks or trivial helpers: the skill itself says these should be plain scripts, not skills, and it does not apply to them
- Quick second opinions on a single piece of work: the file points to a separate cross-modal-review skill for that, which is lighter weight
- Non-technical users without a repository, test setup, or access to multiple model providers, since the workflow assumes all of these
Try asking
- “skillify this”
- “is this a skill?”
- “check skill completeness”
- “did this skill regress”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the checklist one item at a time and let it show which items fail before editing anything
- Give the skill a concrete goal and dimensions for each skill you build, so evaluations judge real purpose rather than generic quality
- For scheduled jobs, re-run a representative task and evaluate it before shipping any edit
