What it does
Once installed, the agent reviews a code change (uncommitted edits, a branch diff against its base, a commit, or custom instructions) the way a careful senior engineer would. It reads the diff and surrounding code, checks tests and call sites, and returns a prioritized list of concrete bugs or regressions, each with a file and line reference. It is explicitly told not to edit files, commit, push, post comments, or hand the job to another agent.
Great for
- Developers who want a second set of eyes on a branch or commit before merging
- Teams using agents to delegate review of work-in-progress changes
- Maintainers who want findings ordered by severity rather than a long list of style nits
Skip it if
- Replacing human review for security-critical or compliance-sensitive code, since it only flags issues it can demonstrate from the code
- Projects without git, because the workflow depends on git diff and merge-base commands
- Style or formatting feedback, which the skill is instructed to skip
Try asking
- “Review my uncommitted changes and list any defects before I commit.”
- “Review this branch against its base branch and report regressions.”
- “Review commit abc1234 for correctness and security issues.”
- “Review the changes in this PR using these custom instructions: focus on the database migration.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Name the exact target (uncommitted, a base branch, or a commit hash) so the agent reviews the right diff.
- Add an AGENTS.md file in the repo with project conventions; the skill reads it before reviewing.
- Treat the output as a starting point and verify P0 and P1 findings yourself before acting on them.
