What it does

When you type the remember command, the agent reviews the current conversation and stores the important decisions, project facts, mistakes to avoid, and how system parts fit together into Atlas's shared memory. It first checks what is already stored so it does not duplicate entries, and it lists what it saved at the end. Other agents and future sessions can then reuse that knowledge.

Great for

  • Developers using Atlas who want knowledge from one session carried into later sessions or other agents
  • Teams that want recorded architecture decisions and known dead ends without writing them up by hand

Skip it if

  • Users without the Atlas app or its atlas_memory MCP server, since the skill stops if those tools are missing
  • Conversations with sensitive details you do not want stored, because the agent saves whatever it judges durable with no review step beforehand

Try asking

  • “/remember”
  • “/remember the retry rule”
  • “/remember the architecture decisions we made about the sync service”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Remember to Atlas memoryInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    remember.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip remember.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip remember.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Pass a focus after the command (for example /remember the database choice) to save only that topic and keep the stored memory tidy.
  • Review the final list of saved items, since the agent decides what counts as durable and may record something you would rather keep out.
