What it does

This skill gives an AI agent a filing system for recurring reports such as morning briefings, inbox sweeps, social mentions and meeting digests. Each report is saved as a dated markdown file with metadata, so the agent can later find the newest one by a simple keyword like "briefing" or "email". It also adds a link check: before a report goes out, the agent reviews each link and fixes or removes ones that are fake, point to unpublished pages, or point to a profile or homepage instead of the specific item.

Great for

  • People running scheduled AI jobs (cron) that produce regular summaries and want them organised and searchable
  • Users of the gbrain knowledge-base tool who want reports stored in a consistent structure
  • Anyone who sends out briefings with links and wants to avoid dead or vague links

Skip it if

  • One-off writing or chat tasks with no saved reports, since the filing and routing add nothing there
  • Environments without the gbrain tool or a git-backed brain repo, because the link checks depend on git status and gbrain get commands
  • Situations where links must be verified against the live web: the check is run by the agent and is not a mechanical guarantee, so it can miss errors

Try asking

  • “Save today's morning briefing as a report”
  • “Load the latest report for the meeting sync”
  • “Show me the pulse from the latest social mentions report”
  • “Run a link quality check on this digest before sending it”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Report Save and Link CheckInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    reports.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip reports.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip reports.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Use the keyword triggers (briefing, email, social, meeting) rather than exact category names so routing stays consistent.
  • Commit and push brain pages before sharing a link to them, or the link will 404.
  • Ask the agent to describe content without a link when it cannot find the direct URL, rather than linking a profile page.
