What it does
When you ask Claude or another agent to screen a company, a sector, an index or a theme, this skill makes it run a fixed checklist of seven financial-quality tests, such as 10-year average return on equity, five-year free cash flow, interest coverage and dilution of shares. It tells the agent to gather the figures through web search, prefer annual reports, check each company against the thresholds, and produce a table of passes, exclusions and exemptions. It is a first-pass filter for ruling out clearly weak companies, not a verdict that a company is good.
Great for
- Investors or analysts who want a quick, consistent first-pass screen across many listed companies
- Students of value investing who want to see a structured checklist applied to real firms
- Anyone comparing peers within an industry or index before deeper research
Skip it if
- Making buy or sell decisions on its own: the skill itself says passing the screen does not mean a company is good, and valuation and management are not assessed
- Companies or markets where the needed data cannot be found reliably, since the skill relies on web search and figures may be incomplete or outdated
- Banks and insurers evaluated with the interest-coverage test, which the skill says does not apply to them
Try asking
- “Run the quality screen on Tencer, Meituan and NVIDIA and show which pass, fail or get an exemption”
- “Screen the constituents of the Hang Seng Index and give me the pass rate and the top few companies”
- “Screen the global AI compute supply chain theme and summarise which sub-sectors look strongest”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- State the data cutoff date and check the source of each figure, since the skill depends on web-sourced financials that may be stale or inconsistent
- Treat borderline results (marked as edge cases) as prompts for further research rather than final answers
- Ask for the limitations section too, and do your own check on valuation, management and competition before acting
