What it does

This skill makes the agent act as a first-pass reviewer of a litigation privilege log, the list of documents a party withholds from production as attorney-client privileged or work product. The agent marks each entry as obviously privileged, obviously not privileged, or needing attorney review, and gives reasons for each flag. It also checks whether documents obtained through earlier disclosure carry use restrictions, requires a matter-intake conflicts check before working, and asks the lawyer to verify any cited authority. Every flag is meant to be reviewed by an attorney before anything is produced.

Great for

  • Lawyers or paralegals preparing a privilege log for production who want a first sort of entries
  • Legal teams in the Claude for Legal setup that already use the matter-intake and matter-workspace workflow
  • Law students or legal ops staff learning how privilege log review is structured

Skip it if

  • Final privilege calls or production decisions: the skill itself says an attorney must review every flag, and wrong calls can waive privilege or cause sanctions
  • Matters outside the configured forum or multi-jurisdiction productions, where the skill warns its calls may not transfer
  • Non-lawyers relying on it as legal advice

Try asking

  • “Review the privilege log for the Smith v. Acme matter before we produce”
  • “Check privilege on these 40 documents and flag the close calls for the attorney”
  • “Priv log QA: sort these entries into obvious privileged, not privileged, and needs review”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    privilege-log-review.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip privilege-log-review.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip privilege-log-review.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Start with a matter that is already set up in the matter log, since the skill refuses to run otherwise
  • Confirm the forum and any protective orders in config before reviewing, because privilege rules vary by jurisdiction
  • Have the attorney check every flagged entry and every cited authority; the skill reports unverified cites as 'could not check' rather than confirmed
