What it does

Once installed, the agent acts as a performance-review specialist. You give it your goals and results for a period, such as weekly reports, project records or data screenshots, and it maps each result to a goal, checks for supporting evidence, and writes a structured Word document: an overall summary, a goal attainment table, three detailed achievements, competency examples and next-period goals. It also flags which points have the weakest evidence and asks you for missing material.

Great for

  • Employees preparing an annual or quarterly self-assessment
  • Managers writing reviews for direct reports who want consistent, evidence-based wording
  • Anyone doing a goal retrospective at the end of a project or period

Skip it if

  • Making actual rating, pay or promotion decisions, which the skill explicitly leaves to the company's process
  • Situations involving sensitive personal or medical details about an employee, which the skill says should be removed from reviews
  • Companies whose performance framework is not supplied, since the output may then not match their rating definitions

Try asking

  • “Write my annual performance self-assessment from these results”
  • “Write a quarterly performance review for a team member”
  • “Turn these project records and weekly reports into goal attainment table for my review”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Performance Review WriterInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    performance-review.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip performance-review.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip performance-review.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Provide the goals set at the start of the period, so results are measured against the original targets rather than redefined
  • Include numbers with their source (system report, project record, customer feedback) so the document can cite them
  • Review the flagged weak-evidence items before sharing, and add real data rather than adjectives
