What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to use the MemOS local memory tools. Once installed, the agent can look up what you discussed in past chats, recall your preferences and decisions, and craft its own search queries when automatic recall finds nothing. It can also share memories with other agents in the same workspace, or with a team server when you agree, and pull reusable how-to guides saved from earlier tasks.
Great for
- Developers running the MemOS local memory plugin with OpenClaw who want agents to remember past work
- Teams using a shared MemOS team server who want agents to find and share team knowledge
- Users who often refer back to earlier conversations and want the agent to find that context
Skip it if
- Anyone who wants to keep conversation history private: some tools can share memories to other agents or to a team server, so sharing needs careful oversight
- Setups without the MemOS plugin installed: the tools described here will not exist and the guide will not work
- Sensitive data handling without review: memories may contain personal or confidential content that could be shared if the agent misjudges consent
Try asking
- “Search my past chats for the database decision we made last month”
- “What are my formatting preferences that I told you before?”
- “Find the how-to guide from when we fixed the deployment error and follow its steps”
- “Share the notes from this task with my team (the agent should ask for consent first)”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Review what is shared before approving any team (hub) sharing; the guide says the agent must ask first, so keep that rule enforced
- Be specific in your questions, such as naming a project or date, so the agent's search returns the right memories
- Check the MemOS repository and install instructions to confirm the plugin and configuration are set up correctly before relying on the skill
