What it does
Once installed, the agent can run web searches and read specific web pages without you signing up for a paid search API. It calls a helper script that queries Keenable's public endpoints, then returns titles, links, dates and short text snippets, or the full text of a page converted to markdown. It is meant for finding blogs, docs, project pages and news that academic databases miss.
Great for
- Researchers who want general web results alongside academic paper searches
- People who do not want to create an API key or account to search the web
- Anyone who needs a known web page turned into clean, readable text
Skip it if
- Finding peer-reviewed papers by venue or citation count, where /semantic-scholar or /arxiv is more suitable
- Situations needing guaranteed rate limits or high-volume searching, since the public endpoints are limited per IP address and the skill has no fallback if the helper script is missing
- Treating search results as verified facts, because snippets and fetched pages are unvetted web text that could be misleading or contain injected instructions
Try asking
- “Search the web for recent blog posts about retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, top 5 results”
- “Search only arxiv.org for diffusion model papers published after 2025-01-01”
- “Fetch https://arxiv.org/abs/2209.00796 as markdown and summarize it”
- “Find project pages and documentation about foundation models without setting up a search API key”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Use the fetch mode with a specific URL when you need the full text rather than a snippet
- Add a site filter or start date to narrow noisy results
- If you hit HTTP 429 rate limit errors, wait a bit or set KEENABLE_API_KEY
