Lets the agent draft, check for duplicates, and file or triage GitHub issues using a repo's own issue forms and policy.

What it does
When installed, the agent follows a strict procedure before writing to GitHub: it confirms the exact target repository, reads the repository's YAML issue form and policy, searches open and closed issues for duplicates, and only then drafts or creates an issue. It also has rules for commenting on existing issues and for changing labels, and it refuses to add protected labels such as status:approved without the right permissions and explicit human instruction. The files describe a reference workflow for these post-publication label actions, but the skill itself is documentation the agent follows, not a standalone tool.
Great for
- Maintainers of GitHub repositories who want consistent, well-formed bug reports and feature requests
- Contributors to repositories that use YAML Issue Forms and label policies
- Teams that want an agent to check for duplicates before filing issues
Skip it if
- Users who want a quick one-off issue without repository policy checks, since the procedure is deliberately heavy and will stop on missing facts
- Repositories without GitHub Issue Forms, because the skill treats YAML forms as the only accepted format and will not fall back to Markdown
- Anyone expecting the skill to enforce permissions itself; it relies on the agent following the written rules and on GitHub's own access controls
Try asking
- “Create a bug report for the login crash I just reproduced in owner/repo”
- “Search for existing issues about dark mode before I file a feature request”
- “Comment on issue 123 in this repo with the reproduction steps I found”
- “Triage issue 45 and add the approved label, but only if I explicitly instruct it”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the exact repository (OWNER/REPO) and, if relevant, the host, so it does not guess the target
- Provide the facts for the issue form up front to avoid repeated questions
- Expect the agent to stop and ask rather than guess labels, approvals or policy; this is intended behaviour
